The litmus test for me, in your reviews , is when you hit that E,A D- (R O C K in the USA) sequence. That really drives the top and shows if there are weird overtones ( plus anybody can sound good playing it ) because otherwise you make any guitar sound good

This older model is so much better looking (plus pick guard) than the new one, which I would never consider. It just looks horrible. I was fortunate enough to just recently find a 2018 on Marketplace for about $900. Currently 2k at GC.

I loved this guitar in every, single, possible, way but 1. The neck width on the OM-28 Modern Deluxe (and I mean the OM-28 MD specifically) is wider than ANY of the other models. It ruins playability for me.

This was so interesting that I listened again. At about 31:46 TSP mentioned "some repair guy in southern Ohio." Was he ever a repair guy, or does he just know everything? (OH, and 17 was my answer to the number of changes in the D-28. It was probably way more)

I saw the tease and I did the math, 17 is my answer (but 17 is always my answer).

Guess I need to find a new hobby until I can get another guitar. Had to sell my 2023 Martin D28. Awesome guitar. Was forced to sell for financial reasons. Now hoping I can get a cheap guitar, such as a Yamaha FG830. I love Martin Standard guitars, and I will get another in the future.

I would love to see a side by side comparison between the M36 and the J40 using the same brand ang gauge strings. I'm having a tough time deciding on my next Martin. I currently have an HD-28 Natural, D-18 Ambertone, 000-28 natural, a D15M, and a 000-15M.

After 2 years every time I pick up this guitar I have hard time like it. I cant make a bond with this guitar . I do not like the sound either I do not like the feel I just hate it and it seems I am among few people :(

Is it the pickup or the guitar, and why do you put me in this position? Each works for the gig. I thought A was a bit bass heavy and B sounds more balanced to me. Was it the EQ, the song...? Driving through Utah once, I stopped at a diner, looking for an elusive cup of coffee. A man introduced me to his wives and asked which I thought was prettier. I said, "Mrs. Smith."

i have the 18 and 35, i prefer the 35 acoustically because it is richer and has more overtones and warmer sounding. I found the amp had more to do with the tone than the guitars..some amps dont do acoustic well at all
